02 / Mood board + Mapping

Today I made a mood board & mind-map to outline the direction I intend to steer this project.
I feel the key connections between these images are:
- Warmth
- Delicacy
- Fairly silent… (perhaps there is an underlying warm hum?)
- Natural Form
- Fragments/Layers
- Earthy colour palette
- Meeting or mix of human & nature (non-human)
I liked the idea of ‘a veil’ floating between these two seemingly separate worlds of human/non-human. So I wondered how I could represent this visually and experimented with watercolour and layering dyed chiffon (from a previous piece) over a black ink circle. This time using pink, oranges, and yellow hues… Even though I intend to steer away from asemic writing to represent the idea of a ‘lost language’ I wanted to improvise a few lines just to see if I got any ideas or insights that could be developed on in a different way.
I liked the chiffon experiment and will develop this when I’m next in the studio. I also wonder whether the colours I went for are too rich/warm so will play with different palettes next time.
